Building the future of Biomnis together

When Jean-Louis Oger asked me to preside over the future of Biomnis, I accepted at once. For me as a biologist, this proposal was attractive in two ways. Firstly, it was an honour, in the light of the history of this laboratory and the work carried out there over the past 10 years. Secondly, it represented a sizeable challenge, since it involves a commitment to continuing its development in an unprecedented context with respect to reform in biology.

These two ideas are the driving force behind my intention to write a new page in the history of Biomnis, a laboratory which, for so many years, has maintained a special link with the profession. This is the history that I wish to continue, backed by the daily commitment of all the teams, along with your support, you, our correspondents and colleagues. At a time so decisive for our profession, Biomnis wishes, more than ever, to be a partner of first-line laboratories.

Being a partner means improving our capacity to provide support and backing for biologists on a day-to-day basis. With the new era which is opening up before us, our ambition, in fact, is to be able to provide them with solutions and services which are increasingly efficient, tailor-made, and which perfectly satisfy each of their specific sets of problems. And it is together that we will succeed in adapting to the new context of work in the field of biology.

For this, we can rely on what has always been our strength: The experience and expertise of our practitioners, our constant capacity for innovation and the quality of our infrastructure, our control of the support functions and the unwavering investment of all the employees. These values remain at the very centre of our development strategy more than ever, and this capacity to adapt, which we have demonstrated for ten years, unquestionably enables us to face the future full of confidence.

The challenges to be faced have never been as numerous as they are today. But although changes in the profession force us to adapt and change on a continuous basis, we are, however, determined to continue the growth of our business and the development of our expertise while respecting our fundamental values, in the continuity of the partnership developed with our colleagues, first-line biologists, both inside and outside the hospital environment. We wish to share our ambition of reinforcing our expertise and professional relations, to strengthen Biomnis position as the leader of the specialized medical pathology in France as well as abroad.

Currently, Biomnis is completing the restructuring of its capital which began last January with the withdrawal of the Mérieux Foundation. This was an essential step in order to ensure the sustainability of the group and provide it with the means to fulfil its ambitions. This operation was carried out with the involvement of biologists in the group, while relying on a stable financial partner, in full compliance with French regulations.

Presiding over a group such as Biomnis, which is steeped in values that have shaped and determined its history, constitutes both an opportunity and a great responsibility. My task is to direct the laboratory and succeed in developing it. At the start of this new adventure, I should like to thank all of you, correspondents, colleagues and partners, for the trust which you place in us every day, and I hereby confirm my commitment, as well as that of all of my colleagues, to the service of medical pathology.
