HCG TEST (BOYS)

Purpose

To investigate interstitial (Leydig) cell function in boys.

Product

Chorionic gonadotropin Endo®, 1500 IU vials.

Dose

3 vials containing 1500 IU by IM injection.

Protocol

• Sample (dry or EDTA tube) at 8 a.m. on d0.
• IM injection of 1500 IU hCG at 8 a.m. on d0, d2 and d4.
• Sample (dry or EDTA tube) on d1 for the assay of oestradiol.
• Sample (dry or EDTA tube) the day after the last injection (d5) for the assay of testosterone.

Samples

After centrifugation, draw off the plasma or serum and store at +4°C.

Assays

Testosterone and oestradiol.
